Chad Munk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Adams Funeral Home Henryville on Jan. 22, 2025.
Chad Christopher Munk, 41 of Henryville, IN, affectionately known as "Chipmunk" to his friends, passed away tragically on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Clinton County, Indiana, due to an automobile accident. He was born on February 23, 1983, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Jerri Lee Mull and Brian McKee Munk.
Chad lived a life full of love, laughter, and service. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, enlisting right after high school. Chad was in bootcamp during the tragic events of 9/11, and after completing his training, he was stationed in Guam, where he served for four years before being honorably discharged in August 2005. Chad was a 2001 graduate of East Washington High School in Pekin, IN.
Chad's work ethic was evident in his 13 years at Thomas Plastics & Machinery, where he worked as a welder and also installed overhead cranes in factories. In 2017, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and founded his own welding company, Fab Weldz. He was a craftsman at heart and took great pride in his work.
Chad's devotion to his community was unwavering. He served as a Sergeant on the Monroe Township Fire Department, where he was also a member of the Honor Guard. He was a member of the Southern Indiana Jeep Club, and his love for adventure and the outdoors was well-known. Chad was an avid hunter, fisherman, and camper, and he enjoyed riding side-by-sides and motorcycles. Above all, Chad was known for his caring nature, infectious humor, and his ability to brighten any room with his laughter. He never met a stranger and always went out of his way to help others.
Chad's heart belonged to his family. He married his beloved wife, Karen (Clark) Miller Munk, on October 5, 2019, at Montgomery Farms, after 13 years together. Together, they built a life filled with love, memories, and mutual respect. Chad was a devoted dad to children: Dakota Rayne Miller (Christopher Jonas) of Henryville, IN; Zackary Shae Miller, currently stationed in Texas with the U.S. Army; and Cameron Reece Miller (Riley Wampler) of Sellersburg, IN, and several aunts, uncles & cousins. He was also looking forward to the arrival of his first grandchild, Baby Maliki, due in March 2025.
Chad was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jackie A. & Bonnie (Aldrich) Mull, a cousin, Scott Thomas Wiesman, an aunt, Lodema Renee Mull, an uncle, Jackie D. Mull, and his paternal grandparents, Keith J. and Jane Marie (Guernsey) Munk.
Chad's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his loving parents, his wife Karen, his children, his sister Shannon Lee Munk of Henryville, IN, and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Friends and family are invited to visit and pay their respects on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the service time at 11:00 AM at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, IN.
