Chad Warren Olsen, age 64 of Beaver, Utah passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2025. Chad was born on September 19, 1960 to Chester and Beverly Olsen in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Growing up Chad had an adventurous life, he loved camping, hunting, and fishing. He loved spending his time outdoors. Chad had three children, C.J., Jessica, and Evan. Chad was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He met his soulmate Mary Jo Gillies in Beaver, Utah. They were married on December 22, 2007 at the Beaver Stake Center and later sealed in the St. George Temple.

You would often find Chad and Mary Jo frequenting yard sales first thing on Saturday mornings. They both had a love for browsing yard sales. Chad also had a deep love for Diet Coke. Later in their life together, Mary Jo was admitted into Beaver Long Term Care. Shortly thereafter, Chad was gifted an electric red scooter. We jokingly called it "The Great Balls of Fire". You would see him daily zipping across main street to see Mary Jo and occasionally down a back road headed to the pawn shop.

He made friends with everyone at Long Term Care and was well know for playing cards and bingo on a daily basis. Chad was one of a kind, known for his quick wit and joking sense of humor that always made you laugh. He will be greatly missed.

Chad is preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary Lee. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo. Children C.J. (Jennifer), Jessica (Robert), Evan and many grandchildren. Brothers David Ross, Steve Chester, Ronald Jay and Wade Livy.

On behalf of Mary Jo and family, we would like to thank the staff at Beaver Hospital and Long Term Care for all the kindness and hospitality you showed to Chad. The staff would often joke that Chad truly lived at Long Term Care but he would sleep at home. We greatly appreciate each and every one of you. We would also like to thank Dr. Rhett Smith for his many years of care he provided.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd at Southern Utah Mortuary (195 N 200 W, Beaver, UT). A viewing will take place at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral services at 10:00 a.m. A graveside will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery.
