Danean Ellson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southern Utah Mortuary - Beaver on Nov. 19, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Danean Davis Ellson passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at the

Beaver Long Term Care Center. She was born on September 2, 1940, to Dan Hopkin and Eva Celeste

Davis in Minersville, Utah. Danean was the first of 5 children, although small in stature, she was very

protective of her siblings, especially Heber.

Danean attended Minersville elementary school, then attended Beaver High School where she earned

her diploma. Shortly after High School, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where she worked as a

secretary at a prominent music store. She shared many stories about this time of her life, and all of the

celebrities that she rubbed elbows with.

December 15 th , 1962, Danean married the love of her life, Ray Keith Davis of Beaver. Danean and Ray

welcomed their first child Danny Ray, October 1963. Ray passed away in March 1964, before meeting

their daughter Teresa. Being the strong little woman that she was, and carrying her toddler and

newborn, she met and married Jim Crouse and became a mother to Marci in 1966, they later divorced

so he could join the circus. Danean married Don Bridge in 1967 and had DawnG in 1972 to complete her

little family, they divorced when she kicked him to the curb. Danean married JJ Ellson July of 1984,

twice just to make sure it was legal, bringing another son to the family, Bob Ellson.

Danean spent most of her time spoiling ALL of her favorite 19 grandchildren. Adding to her legacy, and

having more bare bottoms to kiss, she was blessed with 35 great grandchildren.

Danean loved country music, spicy romance and western novels, frozen twinkies, vanilla ice cream,

fishing and crocheting. But her favorite hobby was her family.

Danean is survived by her children Danny Ray Davis and wife Mandy, Teresa Davis Coon and husband

Blair, Marci Bridge Farish and husband John, DawnG Bridge Black and husband Bret, Deb Ellson wife of

Bob, 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, sisters Rita Hugh and Becky Koerner, sister-in-law

Kathleen Davis, many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Danean is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Ray, sister Peggy Breinholt, brother Heber Davis,

brother-in-law Larry Hugh, husband JJ Ellson, beloved grandson Shaun Ray Davis, and stepson Bob

Ellson.

Danean built and renewed friendships during her short stay at the Beaver LTC, her very own private

nurse whom she greatly loved as her own, Kashe Johnson. The family wants to thank them for the love

and care given to her during her stay (thanks for overlooking her sassiness).

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 12:00 pm at the Minersville LDS Church (130 W. Main St., Minersville, UT). A viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 am also at the church. Interment will follow at the Minersville Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary. Online condolences may be shared and a livestream of the funeral service viewed at www.mortuary.org.
