A larger-than-life personality with a heart of gold, Chad Mathew Stewart of Lake Havasu
City, AZ passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 51, after a 2-year battle with
Glioblastoma. Chad left the world a better place and those who met him were all better
for it.
Chad is survived by his wife of 31 years, Stacey Stewart and two sons, Brendan, and
Tyler, all of Lake Havasu City, AZ, six siblings, seven nephews, four nieces, and his
parents, Joe & Kathy Ross of Milton, DE.
Born in Buckhannon, West Virginia, Chad graduated from North County High School in
Glen Burnie, MD. where he competed in lacrosse, football, and wrestling. Upon
graduation, Chad served 6 years in the United States Marine Corp where he earned the
rank of Seargent while stationed in 29 Palms and Camp Pendleton, along with one tour
in Kuwait in support of Operation Native Fury. Upon leaving the military, Chad worked in
construction, information technology and most recently with the Social Security
Administration.
When he was not working, Chad was coaching and refereeing youth & high school
sports. His passion for coaching was surpassed only by the passion he demonstrated
for family and friends. A devoted family man and friend, Chad loved to fish and crab,
golf, cheer on the Ravens & Orioles, and frequent his favorite Annapolis establishments,
Dock Street and Pips. Chad could hold court with anyone for hours and always had a
joke to share. Despite his small stature, his personality was larger than life and will be
missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Thursday, October 16th @ Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home located @ 21 Riviera Blvd. Lake Havasu City, AZ. 86403 At 3PM. Afterwards, family & friends are invited to the family home for light dinner and refreshments to continue the celebration of Chad's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to
support Chad's niece, Kayla Ross who will run the Philadelphia Half Marathon on
November 22nd in support of the National Brain Cancer Society. Please visit
