Chance William Coburn
October 10, 2005 – December 3, 2025
Chance William Coburn, 20, of Cedar Park, Texas, passed away December 3rd. Born on October 10, 2005, in Austin, Texas, Chance was a bright light whose heart and kindness touched more people than he ever realized.
Chance was born and raised in Cedar Park, where he quickly grew into an energetic, fun-loving child with a passion for sports and the outdoors. He loved baseball, basketball, football and golf. He spent countless hours fishing, hunting, and boating. Chance began his athletic journey in Cedar Park youth leagues, where he built many of the lifelong friendships that continued to surround him throughout his life.
He attended Cox Elementary, Henry Middle School, and Vista Ridge High School, proudly representing the Vista Ridge Football and Baseball teams all four years. Chance graduated in 2024 and went on to attend Blinn College in College Station. He returned home this fall and enjoyed working at DBAT and Balcones Country Club while planning to continue his education at Austin Community College in the spring.
Chance is survived by his parents Eric and Allison (Carrico) Coburn, sister, Kylie, grandmother, Beverly Carrico, grandfather, Bruce Tomastik, grandfather Jerry Cano. Chance is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, Donald and Nichole Tomastik (Avery & Evan), Shawn and Misheal Coburn, Natalie and Cecil Bishop (Trey & Adelynn), and Beverly and Jason Walker (Maizie, Erin, Ethan, & Abigail). Chance was preceded in death by brother, Brady James Coburn, grandfather, James Carrico, and grandmother Anne Cano.
We were blessed to have had Chance in our lives, and we will forever be grateful for the time we shared with him. Chance's heart was larger than we ever imagined, overflowing with kindness, humility, and love. His smile lit up a room, and his compassion touched everyone he encountered. He was an extraordinary son, brother, grandson, cousin, and friend.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to a memorial fund in Chance's honor. The contributions will help fund a scholarship and/or be used in a manner, which will honor Chance's memory and life. Please send contributions via Venmo Allison Coburn @AlliCoburn.
The love and support shown by our family, Chance's friends, and this community has been greater, kinder, and more comforting than we could have ever imagined, and we are forever grateful. Chance's heart was truly larger than life, and the outpouring of care for him and for our family has brought us immense comfort.
Hug your kids. Hug everyone you know. Be grateful for the time you share together-it may be shorter than you think.
