Sumter, SC Chandler Lavern Coulter, age 64, beloved husband of 45 years to Shila Dennis Coulter, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
Chandler was born in Sumter, SC, the son of the late Mary Frances Davis and Leon H. Coulter. He was a member of Shepard's Chapel Church. Chandler had a passion for gardening and working in his yard. He loved to fish in his spare time and care for the family's chickens. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and father and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Surviving are his wife, Shila Dennis Coulter, their son Chandler Lavern Coulter Jr. "CJ" and his wife Annette; three daughters, Faith Snyder and her husband Roy, Marilyn Gainey and her husband Chad and youngest daughter, Laura Coulter, all of Sumter; two brothers, Melvin L. Coulter and his wife Patsy and Eric D. Coulter and his wife Amy, both of Sumter; his three sisters, Betty Baun, Joyce Miles and Mildred Mcleod; sixteen grandchildren, two great granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his sister Janice Lorraine Coulter; granddaughter Roxanne Marie Coulter, and grandson, Randy James Coulter.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Bullock Funeral Home.
