Charles Luther Barton of Dayton, Arkansas, born June 4, 1934, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the age of 88. He was an Army Veteran, an employee of JA Riggs Tractor Supply Co for 21 years as a diesel mechanic and enjoyed cattle farming for many years.
Graveside service will be Wednesday August 17, 2022, at 11:00 am at Coop Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Mansfield.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Margie Ann Wagner Barton and his parents; Ruben and Nancy Ethel Presson Barton. Charles was the youngest of their 14 children. Also preceding him in death were his six sisters; Opal Barton, Dorothy Efurd, Reba Pickle, Edris Elmore, Velma Quick, and Altha Sory. Along with his seven brothers; Truman, Vernon, Carroll, Lawrence, Jacob, Jerry and Bill Barton.
Charles is survived by one daughter, Brenda Heydenreich (David) and one son Mark Barton (Tamachia) both of Mansfield. Five granddaughters; Crystal Rose (Pete), Stacy Horn (Luke), Amy Boyd (Kyle), Brandi Pettus (Travis), and Kelli Willbanks (James Hunsucker) all of Mansfield. Twelve great-grandchildren; Madeline Rose, Jonathon Claybaugh (Cheyann), Hayden Rose, Keaton Boyd, Ethan Pettus, Cameron Pettus, Olivia Willbanks, Trevor Willbanks, Caston Horn, Evan Pettus, Avalea Hunsucker, and Jace Hunsucker, and one great-great-grandson Connor Claybaugh.
Serving as pallbearers will be his great-grandsons.
