Charles Bates Obituary

Born in Voorhees, NJ, Charlie resided in Atco, NJ, for 13 years before moving to Tabernacle 4 years ago. He played baseball for Winslow Township, and was a member of the Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton. Charlie was a senior at Seneca High School in Tabernacle, NJ. More than anything, Charlie enjoyed space, his telescopes, astronomy, math and science. He loved nature, taking pictures of all the interesting leaves, sticks and insects he came across. Charlie was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, and he adored his five cats. He had many cherished friends, and his memory will live on with them forever.
He is survived by his loving Mother and Father, Melissa Pisano and Dave Bates; his maternal grandmother, Carol "Nonni" Pisano (the late Ralph Pisano); his paternal grandmother, Carol Bates; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 6-8PM, and again on Thursday, January 4, from 10-11AM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 11AM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Charlie's memory to the Make-A-Wish Foundation at www.wish.org ; or to Kisses for Kyle at www.kissesforkyle.org

Charlie's love for his mom & pop-pop was a love that makes everyone smile around him. Charlie you will be missed. Your family in Heaven will wrap their wings around you for eternity
