In loving Memory
Charles Lewis Beasley, 77, of Fines Creek in Clyde, passed away on Sunday August 31st, 2025, at Mission Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends after a brief illness. Charles was the son of the late Shuford and Annie Beasley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Albert, Earl, Lloyd (Junior) and Clyde Beasley and by stepbrothers Ned and Sam Beasley and by sister Ada Harden and his nephew Brian Beasley. He was known to many people by his nickname Baldy. He found out in July that his brother Clyde gave him this name as a baby because he didn't have much hair. His whole life he never knew why he had that nickname, but his brother told him he gave it to him and he found this out about 2 weeks before his brother passed in July. He is also preceded in death by is special hunting dogs, his two real special dogs, Lucy, Tank, Blue, and Kilo and his cat Prissy.
Charles retired from the NC Welcome Center where he served as a very loyal and dedicated employee for many years. He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman with a deep love for hunting (especially bear), camping, fishing and being out in nature. He enjoyed spending time at his hunting camper, his close hunting family and friends. He enjoyed feeding his chickens, cats, the neighbor's horse and donkeys and seeing the country critters that showed up at his house such as raccoons, squirrels, opossums, foxes, deer and the occasional bears that passed through.
He was spoiled by his wife and daughter on holidays and birthdays, and he loved every minute of it. He was a man who could make you laugh easily and not even be trying to. His favorite past times were drinking coffee, relaxing on his porch with his wife Brenda and his daughter Tiffany (Tia) and his many family and friends. He loved listening to frogs, crickets, and katydids, watching lightning bugs, sitting around a fire pit and looking through his daughters' telescope at the moon and stars accompanied by the cats who never seemed to leave his side. He took pride in maintaining the lawn and taking care of his wifes flowers. He was often found chopping wood or using his woodsplitter in the cooler months. He liked to go for winter drives and watch the snow fall or to look at Christmas lights. He believed strongly in and supported his community and assisted at events, whether cooking up burgers on the grill, giving donations or providing conversation to people. He helped deliver meals to many during Hurricane Helene. He would always lend a helping hand to someone in need whether it be food or money. He enjoyed listening to his daughters fire dept radio when calls went out for Fines Creek Fire Dept. He was proud that his daughter is on the Fire Dept. Sadly he became one of the calls and had to be helped by the fire dept. He was grateful for all their help.
He liked going to events at Maggie Valley and most recently went to Hippiefest and had a blast. He enjoyed festivals and events. He enjoyed his country back road drives with his wife and daughter. He cared deeply for his family and missed all of the many who have passed on before him.
Charles is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Greene Beasley, only child Tiffany (Tia) Beasley Patterson, brother Thomas Beasley (Sandra)and sister Linda (Ethel) Ewart, several sister and brother in laws and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins, all of whom he loved dearly. He was a quirky but loving husband and an immensely devoted father.
All who read this or hear of it are welcome to a visitation will be held at Panther Creek Baptist Church at 3pm and service at 4pm with burial to follow at Panther Creek Cemetery. Charles's brother in law Rev Ronald Greene will be officiating. There will be numerous pallbearers from his bear hunting buddies to family and friends and honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the Funeral Home.
