Sandra Kay Brookens Anderson, 74, of Clyde, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at her home in Clyde, surrounded by family.
A native of Asheville, she was the daughter of Hettie Ogle and the late Paul Richard Brookens. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband nearly 35 years, "Jimmy" Anderson; one brother and one sister; and three great-grandchildren. Sandra was passionate about gardening and keeping her flower beds thriving. She was a rock-hound and loved mining for gems in her backyard, that she would tumble and Dremel, and gift to her loved ones. Sandra worked as a C.N.A. for twenty years and was always a loving and caring presence for all her patients throughout the years.
In addition to her mother, Sandra is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Henderson of Clyde, Cindy and Kenny of Weaverville, and Amanda, of Clyde; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; her cherished fur-babies,
"Wendy", "Rosco":, and "Boo Boo"
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 3:00 pm, at the chapel of Smoky Mountain Cremations & Funeral Service with Brother Charles Andrew Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:25 pm prior to the service.
