Charles "Chuck" Francis Birtle, 95, of Huntsville, OH, passed away Sunday evening, August 24, 2025, at Indian Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation, Lakeview, OH.
Charles was born on April 17, 1930, in Columbus, OH, a son of the late Matthew and Mildred (Hunt) Birtle. He is preceded by his first wife, Luana Birtle and a sister, Phyllis Wilson.
Chuck is survived by his long-time companion of over 20 years, Betsy Birtle, two children, Dana Jahn of Kettering, OH, and Charles F. (Amanda) Birtle, Jr. of Tipp City, OH, six grandchildren, Jennifer (Travis) Vanzant, Jordan (Mallory) Jahn, Joshua (Aubree) Jahn, Brian Birtle, Jenny (Derek) Alexander, and Stephanie (Dustin) Lancaster, and 12 great grandchildren.
Chuck was a graduate of Chaminade High School in Dayton. He was a veteran of the Air Force National Guard. Chuck was a mechanic and operated his own filling station from 1950 to 1961, when he went to work for Standard Register and retired after 32 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church in Russells Point, OH. He was also a member of Indian Lake Elks Lodge, and Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533.Chuck loved being at Indian Lake and was a active member of Tecumseh Island Civic Association. He was a true people person, who enjoyed spending time with friends, meeting new ones along the way or just giving pleasant greetings to passersby on their boat, in their car or golf cart.
Private emtombment is in Miami Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Centerville, OH.
