MacNabb Funeral Home, P.A. & Metro CrematoryCharles Richard Blankenship, 74, affectionately known as Rick or Ricky, of Lansdowne, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 8, 2025 surrounded by his family at Accent Hospice at Harbor Hospital in Baltimore. Born March 13, 1951 in Baltimore at Franklin Square Hospital, he was the son of the late Charles Raymond and Mildred Cleveland Blankenship, nee Leaf. He was the loving husband of Linda Diana Blankenship, nee Schwartz, his wife and lifelong partner of 53 years; devoted father of Patricia L. Hipp, Thomas T. Taylor, Lisa D. Donnelly and her husband Michael P., and Tammy L. Taylor; cherished grandfather of Allen Hipp, Jr., Caitlin Donnelly, and Joshua Taylor and his wife Jasmine; and great grandfather of Addalynn and Olivia; brother of Sandra Botkins and John Blankenship and his wife Amy. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his son-in-law C. Allen Hipp, Sr., and his brother James Blankenship.
Rick worked for many years as a Tow Motor Operator in the paper warehouse for Chesapeake Paper as well as many other paper companies. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles fan. He enjoyed fishing and jumping into a good card game, but most of all, spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2025 at the MacNABB FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 301 Frederick Road, Catonsville, (21228) where the funeral service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, November 15, 2025. Interment will be in the Loudon Park Cemetery, 3620 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore (21229).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in Mr. Blankenship’s name to the charity of ones choice. Online condolences may be offered at www.macnabbfuneral.com.
