Mary Lou Murrow

May 19, 1928 – October 24, 2025

Mary Lou Murrow, 97, of Catonsville, Maryland, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 24, 2025. She was born on May 19, 1928, in Carlinville, Illinois, to Estel and Inez Clark. In the early 1940s, Mary Lou, her sister Eleanor June, and her parents relocated to Maryland, where they contributed to the nation’s efforts during World War II. Over the years, Mary Lou lived a long and meaningful life centered around family, faith, and friendship.

Mary Lou was married to the love of her life, John R. Murrow, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted mother to John (Susan) Murrow, Johanna “Hobby” R. Moloney, George “Buster” (Beth) C. Murrow, and Mark S. Murrow. She was a proud grandmother to John (Rachel) Murrow, Ben (Sarah) Murrow, Caitlin Emerson (Brian) Bent, Wayne Emerson, Kyle Murrow, and Andrew Murrow. She also deeply cherished her great-grandchildren — Elizabeth, Abby, Marlee, Jaxon, Dawson, and Lucas — who brought her endless joy in her later years.

Mary Lou will be remembered for her steady kindness, quiet strength, and love of her favorite card game, Skip-Bo. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, sister, and friend — a woman who cared deeply for dogs and treasured her time with family in the Outer Banks.

Her life will be celebrated by all who loved her, taking comfort in knowing she is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, John, and her children, John, Hobby, and Buster.
