Charles E. Brown of Alexander, age 90, passed away on June 10, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 18, 1934 in Batavia, New York, a son of the late Lyle and Etta (Kidder) Brown.

Charles graduated from Alexander High School and on June 3rd of 1980, he married the love of his life, Mary Kathleen Pratt (Kaye).

He worked for multiple construction companies, as a supervisor, until his retirement in 2000. Post retirement, Charlie took up a part-time job working beside his stepson, Rick Bachorski, renovating and building homes and also spent time with his son, Duane Brown building a home in Alexander.

Charlie truly embraced and cherished his time spent with Kaye, their family and friends. Charlie and Kaye loved to travel and cruise frequently to tropical destinations, especially Saint Martin. Throughout the years he and Kaye parented many fur babies, most recently puppies, Lacy and Oscar and feline Missy, who were a tremendous source of love and comfort to Charlie.

He was a hardworking man, building two beautiful homes from the ground up, for he and Kaye; which they took great pride in maintaining and decorating together. As a master carpenter, Charlie spent hours in his home shop, constructing cabinets and furniture for friends and family, which will now become sweet heirlooms of remembrance.

In death Charlie is reunited with his parents, Lyle and Etta; beloved son, Duane Brown; stepdaughter, Lea Ellen Mancuso, and siblings, Douglas Brown and Phyllis Minihan.

Charlie is survived by children Cheryl Hurd, Robert Gerald (Laura) Bachorski, Richard (Pauline) Bachorski, Karen Joyce (Keith Glomb), Amy (Scott) Draiss, and daughter-in-law Maureen Brown. Grandchildren Roger (Nicole) Brown, Mitch (Brandie) Hamilton, Shannon Chu Hamilton (Patricia Chu), Paul (Mari) Hamilton, Gage Draiss, Travis (Melissa) Bachorksi, Kathy (Joshua) Baker, John Howard, Samantha (Kathleen) Urtz, Claire (Rob) Pitzonka, Chad (Rachel) Bachorski, Joshua Bachorski, and Julie Lush. Charlie is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
