Charles M. Caiola
Frankfort - Charles M. Caiola, 93, affectionately known as "Babe", of Frankfort passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, in Masonic Care Community with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Frankfort, New York, on March 4, 1931, the son of the late James and Cecelia D'Amico Caiola. He attended Frankfort schools and graduated from Frankfort Schuyler High School with the class of 1949. He was married to Angie Tocco on October 1, 1960, in St. Mary's Church. He was employed by Univac and later General Electric, Utica, NY, until his retirement in 1996. He was the owner and operator of Prints Charles, Utica, from 1988 to 2019. Chuck was the guitarist and vocalist with his wife, Angie and the Fantastics. He was the original MacGyver, always helping his family and others. Charles was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church and a dedicated member of the Addolorata Society, Frankfort.
Charles is survived by his beloved wife, Angie; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James and his wife, Ella, Caiola of Frankfort, and Frank Caiola of Norwalk, CT.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ceil, and her husband, Ron Bolar, of North Lima, OH and Deborah Cole of Groton, MA; two sisters, Joan Murphy of Herkimer and Cecilia Morton of Ilion; his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Cole, Justin Cole, Michael Cole, Nicole Bolar, Jake Bolar and Julia Caiola; two sisters-in-law, Carol LoVullo and Tina Caiola, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Lucy Tocco; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Fanny and her husband, Angelo Nicolette, Mary and her husband, Michael Ruffalo, Rose and her husband, Sam Piazza, and Florence Caiola; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Sam and his wife, Lillian Caiola, Peter Caiola, Joseph and his wife, Rachel Caiola; his son-in-law, Michael Cole; his in laws, Richard Murphy, Samuel LoVullo, Florie and James Scarchilli and Ray Morton.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 4-8 at the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Avenue, Frankfort. His funeral will be held Wednesday morning, September 4, 2024, at 8:45 am from the V.J. Iocovozzi Funeral Home Inc., 203 Second Ave., Frankfort and at 9:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Apostles Church, S. Frankfort St., Frankfort, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Frank Vivacqua. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Charles' memory may be made to Addolorata Society Prayer Garden C/O Iocovozzi Funeral Home, Inc. 203 Second Ave., Frankfort, NY 13340. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Charles' family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Masonic Care Community for the wonderful care and compassion shown to him and his family during his stay and passing. A very special thank you to charge nurses, Betsy and Mary Rose, for the love and concern they had for him.
