As a young college Va. RA Camp Lifeguard...we staffers would go to hear Rev. Charles Chilton preach on Sundays near the camp. He was passionate in the pulpit, a role model for us, a missions-minded evangelist, zealous for the King and His Kingdom. He ignited a fire in my heart of the Gospel and global missions. We were all indebted to him for his godly life.

Pastor was my second pastor ever, as a Freshman at the University of Maryland, I knew him as a man with a heart for evangelism and people. When he heard that I was going to plant a church, he contacted me to pass on his book and a warm note of encouragement. I just re-found the note in my files and thought I would look him up. It was a privilege to know him.

To Faye and family: It's almost a year and I've just learned that Pastor Chilton has graduated to receive the highest reward for those who die in the Lord. He touched my life in many ways and helped me grow in the Lord. Through his encouragement music has become a true ministry. God blessings as.you rejoice in the well and blessed life of a Servant of God. Love, Jill

In the mist of my search on increasing my faith and establishing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and our Lord our Father God; the father of my dear friend Amy Mendzela died. I Never had the honor of meeting him personally, but my husband and I had the honor to attend his Celebration of Life Service and witness the amazing work this "man of God" has done in our earth. The little we could have seem of his exemplary life has influence me tremendously and even in his absence I have to say: "Amy your father has just shown me the meaning of Life; to give ourselves to God". He has done beautifully in all his aspects of life; as a husband, father, grandfather and shepherd of God guiding many, including myself, to God our Father.
To the family of Mr. Charlie Chilton. "Rejoice for he has lived a life as a witness of the Love Of God and His Son Jesus and now he is resting beside Them. My love to all of you.

Our condolences to Fay, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pastor Charlie was an awesome man of God. Loving and gracious and a great preacher. As members of Reconciliation Community Church, we will never forget him and all he did for us. He opened Grace Baptist to us for Sunday services and our Bible School classes during the week. He exemplified the love of God in all that he did. "Well done, good and faithful servant." Rest in peace from all your labors.
To Fay and family, our prayers of comfort are with you.

A true servant leader who was the same in the pulpit as he was at your table. Always spoke the truth in love. Never preached but shared God's word with power and authority that made a lasting impact on our family. Your voice will continue to echo in our hearts and lives through The Indigo Bunting. We love you and will miss you Pastor Charlie! God's richest blessings on your family!

What a home coming! He is rejoicing with his savior now, BUT We will miss Bro. Charlie,He was our pastor for many years. His love for the Lord was evident to anyone who ever had the privileged to cross paths with him!We will never forget our first service with him in 1996 a powerful message. He is home with "Daddy", where he belongs. He was a wonderful counselor as well. Our prayers are now with Fay and family.

It is difficult to accept the fact that my pastor and dear friend Charlie Chilton is no longer available when I call. His demise is made easier to bear when I think of the joy in Heaven when he arrived. For nearly fifty years he, Fay and the children have been my closest friends. I was vey fortunate to have heard Charlie preach in three countries, U.S., Japan and the Philippines, as well as two states in the U.S. Over the many years Charlie and Fay Chilton deeply touched thousands across the world. His preaching and true Christian example inspired numerous of his hearers to become ministers. He was one of a very small number of preachers who enjoyed preaching to his "home folks". Some of his high school friends were his closest admirers.
In my 83 years I have known many men, Charlie Chilton stands at the very top of the list of those that have truly left the world better. I expect that his first question upon arriving in paradise was to say, " Lord Jesus when can I get in the pulpit and preach." Preaching the "Good News" was a great love for Charlie.
Gone but never forgotten my dear friend. Edwin C. King, Ormond Beach, Fl.
