Charles “Chuck” E. Gaedtke, 69, of Tomahawk passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the Asprius Wausau Hospital. Chuck was born February 7, 1956 in Wausau, the son of Almon and Vivian (Berg) Gaedtke. Chuck dedicated 36 years of work to Green Bay Packaging in Wausau, from 1977 until retiring in 2013.
Chuck was an incredibly proud father and grandfather. When his sons were younger and involved in sports, Chuck rarely, if ever, missed a game or practice. He was their biggest supporter, always cheering them on. Win or lose, it didn't matter, as long they gave it 100% and left it all out on the field or ice rink. Chuck also treasured the outdoors and passed that enthusiasm on to his sons. Hunting deer and grouse, fishing, and shooting firearms and archery created many fond memories and lessons learned. Countless hours were spent together out in the woods hunting or with lines in the water. Fishing for trout was one of his favorite things, as they are fierce fighters, put on spectacular displays of ariel acrobatics, plus they taste great! He always had a nice hot coffee with him, no matter the weather. He was incredibly quick-witted and never missed an opportunity to crack a joke.
Chuck is survived by his sons, Zachary (Brandi) Gaedtke, Mosinee; Heath (Michaela) Gaedtke, Ringle; brother, Calvin Gaedtke, Tomahawk; five grandchildren, Case and Mackenzie; Genevieve, Gabrielle, and Larkin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Grace; and brothers, Don, Raymond, Melvin and Randy.
A Memorial Gathering will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Krueger-Nimsgern Funeral Home, Tomahawk with Pastor Larry Mathein officiating. Burial will be later in the spring at Greenwood Cemetery.
