Charles "Chuck" R. Thompson, III

Charles “Chuck” R. Thompson, III, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2023.  He was born in Durham, North Carolina on May 17, 1971 to Charles R. Thompson, Jr. and the late Carolyn Ray Thompson.  Chuck attended the Durham Academy Learning Development Center and graduated from Southern High School.

Chuck had multiple disabilities all his life, however this never stopped him with  helping and working with his father and grandfather for many years.  He really enjoyed going to the beach, swimming, traveling, many forms of technology and listening to music.  Chuck made friends with costume makers for many movies and television shows.  He also loved animals, but most of all he enjoyed going to church where he was a lifelong member at Olive Branch Baptist Church where he will be buried alongside other family members.

Chuck is survived by his beloved father, Charles Raymond Thompson, Jr.; aunt, Derma Ray Lambert; uncle, George W. Ray, Jr. of Raleigh, NC; cousins, Lee Lambert and Kim Burrow of Chapel Hill, NC; cousins, Bill Lambert and his wife Debbie of Charlotte, NC; cousin, Lydia Lockett Bals and husband John; cousin, Harold Wilson and his wife Chris of Texas and cousins, Jacob Ray and Frank Ray.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Olive Branch Baptist Church.  Viewing of Chuck will be prior to the service from 10:30 A.M. until 10:55 A.M. Rev. Tim Wheeler will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
