Charles Kevin Chumley, 66, of Covington, TN., passed away on August 25, 2025. He was born on December 28, 1958, to loving late parents, Charles Eugene Chumley and Gail McBride Chumley, who raised a man known for his grit, humor, and unwavering love for his family.

For 33 years, Kevin was happily married to the love of his life, Elinor, and together their life was filled with constant laughter, adventure, and family memories. A proud husband, father, and grandfather, Kevin especially adored his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Kevin was a true outdoorsman. He found peace in fishing, camping, and hunting, and was always up for an adventure, especially when it came to mudding with his best friend and family. There was never enough time in one trip for Kevin to have all the fun he wanted. He was a hard worker and dedicated maintenance mechanic for the City of Memphis, where his tireless work ethic and problem-solving skills were well-respected.

Though Kevin was known for his tough exterior and stubborn streak, those close to him also knew his softer, goofy side. A side that brought joy and laughter to those lucky enough to see it, sort of a privilege that he would give you if he really liked you. He was a fighter through and through, facing every challenge head-on, especially his final battle, which he fought with incredible strength until the very end. He never gave up along the way over the years.

Kevin was deeply devoted to his family, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, whether family, friend, or stranger. He loved his parents dearly, proudly calling himself a "momma's boy," and his loyalty to those he loved was unmatched.

Kevin's smile, laughter, and larger-than-life presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elinor; children: Charles "Kevin" Chumley, Jr (Jessie), John Michael Chumley (Karen), Leslie Gail Belt (Brad Walk), & Christina DeBerry (Corey Haynes); grandchildren: Adyson Goode, Logan DeBerry, Jax "Lucky" Faulkner & David Chumley; one sister, Lee Ann Sorrell (Jim), and many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
