Charles Collins Obituary

Charles W. Collins, Jr., 94, formerly of Greenwood and widower of Janet Lester Collins, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Hospice & Community Care in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Born in Texarkana, Arkansas, on July 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Charles William Collins, Sr. and Thelma Crank Collins. Charles was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He graduated from Lewisville High School in Lewisville, Arkansas, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arkansas. Charles had a successful career as a chemical engineer with Monsanto before his retirement.

He was a faithful member of North Side Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Carla Crocker of Fort Mill; and two grandchildren, Sharon Crocker Harrell (Tyler) of Rock Hill, and William Seth Crocker (Mariel) of Kingsland, GA; and one great-grandson, Sammiel Crocker.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Oakbrook Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Side Baptist Church.

Blyth Funeral Home & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
