Charles "Chuck" Kenneth Connon entered into the loving presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 26, 2024. He was born July 30, 1934, in Mishawaka, IN, to the late William A. and Zella M. (Smith) Connon.
Chuck graduated from John Adams High School in Mishawaka. He attended Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, AL. There, he met Patricia A. Phillips, whom he married on March 10, 1956, at Brookfield Baptist Church in Brookfield, IL. He later graduated from North Central College in Naperville, IL.
Chuck was a devoted husband and father to his five children. He is predeceased by his wife Patricia and his oldest son, Charles. He is survived by Kathleen (Christopher) Parsons, David (Melinda) Connon, James (Janet) Connon, and Kristin (Michael) Odum.
Chuck had a passion for studying the Bible and communicating its riches, especially in teaching Sunday School in many churches over the years. He taught himself Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic and loved learning more about his faith. Chuck had a deep and abiding love for God and trusted God completely to care for him.
He also was very interested in genealogy and could tell you about many members of his family. He loved travelling to Scotland and enjoyed tending his garden, especially tomatoes and herbs.
Chuck served as Controller at Moody Bible Institute for over 35 years and enjoyed developing new ways to more effectively and efficiently do his work and be a good steward to God's financial resources.
Chuck is survived by his brother Ed, nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, siblings Marguerite Manley, William Connon, and Larry Connon, and his oldest son Charles Connon.
Visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home at 24021 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville, IL, with a service to follow at 1pm at the funeral home led by Minister Keith Yoder. Interment will be in Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora following the service.
The family would like to thank the loving and skilled staff at Arbor Terrace in Naperville. For the last year, they have provided a wonderful place for Dad to live that was filled with kind and caring staff and many friends.

When Uncle Chuck learned Paul, was going to marry a Scot, he told him the first thing he wanted to hear from my lips when we met was a song. Just a Wee Deoch & Doris. He was particularly fond of the last line: "If ye can say it's a braw, bricht, moonlicht, nicht, then ye're a'richt, ye ken." I remember coming into Aunt Ruth's kitchen on Spring Street, and he was right across the room. I stood stock still, sang the song, and ran straight into his arms. Boy, was he a great hugger! He became MY uncle Chuck that day!

I remember his incredible sense of humor and infectious laugh. Even in difficult circumstances I never heard him grumble or complain. It was always a joy to be in his presence. -- Paul Manley
