Charles R. Dickey, 82, who was a member of the International Operating Engineers Local 825, passed peacefully on September 26, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida, after a lengthy illness.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Catherine (nee Lunn), his children Richard ( Davina) of Arizona, Neil ( Jacqueline) of Connecticut and Rachel of New York. His grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler of Connecticut, and John David of Connecticut. He also leaves behind his Stepsons Adam (Colleen), Stephen (Jennifer) and Aaron of New York and their children. He also leaves behind brother, Ronald (Donna) who he was especially close to and sister Regina Seeley (Albert), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on January 13, 1943, to Robert and Mildred (LaPira) Dickey. He is predeceased in death by brothers Robert, Roger, and Randall, as well as his sisters, Roberta and Rita.

Charlie loved to fish, watch NASCAR, and to go boating. He also loved his job and family. He joined the Union in 1963 and retired in 2020.

A celebration of his life will take place in Connecticut later this month with his loving family and friends. Please make donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
