Charles R. Doris Sr., 88 of Clark Mills, NY and Poland, NY passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023. He was born in Rome, NY on October 10, 1935 to the late William and Clara Doris.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
He was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman in which he leaves many close friends that he enjoyed the outdoors with. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. His first job was working at Acee Slaughter House. He also worked for Smith Packing and Grand Union.
He married his loving wife, Grace (Romeo) in 1956.
He is survived by his children, Bethany (Robert) Doris-Kouse, Charles Jr. (Tina) Doris and Christine (Andy) Dansby; grandchildren, Meghan, Nicholas, Joshua, Amelia and Mariah; sister-in-law, Martha Romeo and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife, Grace; siblings, Anna, Helen, Jack, several brothers and sister-in-laws on both the Doris and Romeo families.
A celebration of his life will take place in the Spring.
The family would especially like to thank his niece, Julie, nephew, Fran, the nurses and doctors at Wynn Hospital, Utica, NY and Hospice & Palliative Care of Oneida, Herkimer and Eastern Madison Counties.
