Charles Dover Obituary

Charles Edwin Dover, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, great grandfather, and friend passed away on May 23, 2022 due to many complications of aging. He was born to Frank R. Dover and Ella Stobbe on Nov. 26, 1929. He was raised by his grandparents John Henry and Marie Theresa Stobbe. He's an East High School Alumni and upon his graduation he joined the U.S. Navy. He met the love of his life, Edythe Rose Pietramala at Salt Lake Area Vocational School. On September 2, 1950, they were married. In addition to his wife, Charles inherited her parents, Papa and Big Mama, and a large extended Italian family. Chuck and Edie were each other's constant companion for 71 years. They were the proud parents of three children: Charles Dover Jr. (Tina), JoAnn Bussell (Carlos), and DiAnn Calacino (Angelo). They have nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Charles retired from Mountain Bell after 33 years of service. Together he and Edie became vagabonds traveling the world and creating many lasting memories. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother Paul, and daughter Marie Therese. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and brother, Bill Cupit, and numerous nephews and nieces. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. May his memory be eternal! May the blessings of Almighty God be upon him. We love you, Dad!
Viewing June 8th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Funeral Mass and Services held June 9th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery to follow.

For Edy, family I offer my sincere condolences.
I loved visiting with Chuck and Edy every week sharing wonderful stories of their life together. Chuck once told me of his love and concern for Edy. At the end of every visit I especially loved their goodbye hugs. He will be missed greatly.
