Ed was a family man through and through. He married Sue Ann Hanlin on July 4, 1964, in Buchanan, Michigan-a fitting day for a couple who built a life full of love, laughter, and loyalty. Together they raised two children, Kim (Troy) Payne and Charples L. Draper, and later welcomed grandchildren Tamara Martin, Tony, and Tye Payne, and great-grandchildren Hayden, Addy Howard, and Tru Payne. His family was his pride and joy.
He's survived by his brothers Shamles and David Draper, and reunited now with his sisters, Louella Russell and Stella Fortune, and brothers, Clifford, Otis, and Gene Draper.
Ed worked hard all his life, spending years at Clark Equipment and later at Premiere Tool & Die. He was known for showing up, getting the job done, and sharing a laugh along the way.
Outside of work, Ed had a stubborn streak and a love for the outdoors-especially when it came to riding his mules. He found real joy in those rides, and he never missed a chance to tell a good story about them. If you knew Ed, you probably heard a few.
In keeping with Ed's quiet nature, there will be no public services. His family will gather privately to remember him. Palmer Funeral Home-Hoven Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
