Charles Egan, a lifetime area resident and owner of 4-E Construction, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, at his family home surrounded by his loving family. Charles had fought a courageous battle against cancer for 4 years. Our only consolation as his family is Charles is at peace. He knew and loved the lord. Charles was born the 4th child to Jerome Sr. and Julia Egan. Charles grew up in the Washington County, OK, and Montgomery County, KS, areas. His family moved several times during his youth. Charles was one of the last working cowboys to ride an open range. He worked for Carter Ranch until joining the Army, where he attained the rank of Sergeant and received an honorable discharge. After the Army, Charles worked various jobs, including building trailers for Tuffy Trailer in Copan and founding his own construction company, 4-E Construction. For more than 46 years working in the Northeast Oklahoma area, Charles was known by both customers and other contractors for his honesty, work ethic and integrity. Charles met his wife, Billie, through his older sister, Helen. Charles and Billie were married more than 51 years. They welcomed and raised 4 children at their home in Copan, OK, and later enjoyed and spoiled their 10 grandchildren. Charles always said his children and grandchildren were his greatest achievements in his life. Our family's loss is truly heaven's gain. Charles will be missed so much more than words can say. Those who knew and loved him and those who had the honor of being his friends were blessed to have Charles in their lives. Charles was preceded in passing from this world by his parents, Jerome Sr. and Julia Egan; two brothers, Jerome Jr. and James; three sisters, Helen, Patricia, Joyce. Charles Is survived by his wife, Billie; son, Charles and wife Megan and their children, Anthony and Velisha, Kaytlyn, Kayleb, and Evelyn; son, Mickel; daughter, Tina, and her children, Tiffany, and Olivia; daughter, Traci and husband Michael, and their children, Jayven, London, and Aaliyah; adopted son, Calvin Winstead and wife Shawna, and their children, Calvin Jr, Angel, Dylan and Kannin; sister, Margaret Peterson; sister, Carol and husband Danny Johnston; brother, David and wife, Maryann; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were greatly loved by Charles. Charles' family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave., Dewey, OK 74029, 918-534-3030. Come and go visitation will also be held from 10-8 Thursday. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Egan Family Cemetery, 396860 W. 300 Road, Copan, OK 74022.
