Charles Ellender Obituary
Charles Andrew Ellender, 87, a lifelong resident of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025. Born on October 16, 1937, Charles lived a life full of love, hard work, and dedication to his family.
He was a beloved father to Bryant Ellender (Patti Ellender) and Alissa Jean, who will cherish his memory and the many lessons he imparted. Charles was also a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great-grandfather to seven great-grandchildren.
Charles had a deep love for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and duck hunter, always finding joy in nature. He also had a passion for gardening, spending countless hours tending to his plants and sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. His kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support for those he loved made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary Ellender, and his brothers Larry Ellender and Herman Ellender Jr.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home in Sulphur, La on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a rosary at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Carlyss, La followed by burial at Big Woods Cemetery
Serving as pallbearers will be Thad Ellender, Tim Ellender, Anthony Ellender, Andrew Ellender, Zakk McCoy, and Seth Jean.
