Torrington- Charles J. Germano, 65, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at Waterbury Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Charles was born in Torrington on September 23, 1960, son of the late Charles and Louise (Rovero) Germano, and had been a lifelong area resident. He was also a longtime member of the former St. Francis School and Church community.
He enjoyed taking walks and watching sports, especially the New York Yankees. Charles was a very social person and loved talking to people; his knowledge of the Torrington area was unparalleled. He had a gift for remembering all sorts of news items and interesting facts, and he enjoyed sharing what he knew. Family and friends could always be sure they would learn something from Charles.
Survivors include two brothers, Stephen Germano of Roswell, GA, and Richard Germano and his wife, Lynda, of Pittsburgh, PA; a sister, Marilyn Trabold and her husband, Charles, of Milford; two nieces, Veronica and Victoria Germano; and an aunt and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Paul the Great Academy, 360 Prospect St., Torrington, CT 06790, or a charity of the donor's choice.
