Charles Gilbert Obituary
A member of the Trinity House of God, in Austin
Charles is survived by his loving siblings, Pearlie Jean Campbell, Jewell (Elmer) Barger, Dosha Sue (Stan Robbins) Aynes, Mary Essie (Steve) Smith, Felix Gilbert, Jr. of Austin, Indiana, and Lester Dale (Sherry) Gilbert. He was a cherished stepfather to Nikki Spaulding, Denise (Robert) Dean, and Robert (Notisha) Holbrook. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he will be fondly remembered by his several grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his brothers, Donnie Ray Gilbert and Noah Gilbert; his sisters, Linda Kay Baker, Carolyn Elaine and Marilyn Jane Gilbert and Kathleen Gilbert-Campbell; brothers-in-law, Fred Campbell and David Baker; and stepdaughter, Crystal Spaulding-Hall.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin, Indiana. The service will be officiated by Rev. Elmer Barger, Rev. Johnny Bowling, and Rev. Danny Morris.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation from 10 am to 1 pm on Friday at Buchanan Funeral Home, prior to the service.
Charles will be laid to rest at Oak Cemetery in Austin, Indiana.

My parents, Delbert and Chloe (Couch) Gilbert and my sisters Allene (just passed), Arlene, Patty (passed) and I loved Charles so very much. Although, I was closest in age to him and we were closest. He was a family man and we knew he loved us all. He called us girls often to check on us and to raise our spirits, tell us he was praying for our health, shared the many miracles he had heard of and the ones he experienced. He loved the Lord and was happy to share his joy with us. His calls will so sadly be missed. My precious cousins, I love you A L L so very much. He's with your blessed Mommy and Daddy again. Amen.
