Charles "Chuck" Harpell

Charles "Chuck" Harpell, 71, of Elkland, Missouri, passed away on August 13, 2025. Born in Eureka, California, to Fred and Alvira Harpell, Chuck was known for his sense of humor, love of the outdoors, and his deep care for animals. He found joy in woodworking and took pride in his 35 years of dedicated service with the Maiman Company.

Chuck married his wife, Kathy, on May 15, 2009. Together, they built a life lled with laughter and love. He had a special bond with animals – always feeding the deer that came to visit and surrounding himself with beloved dogs who were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Alvira Harpell; his brother, Bill Harpell; his sister, Bonnie Harpell; his mother-in-law, Ruth Deckard; and his dogs Cruiser, Kyora, Rosie, Maza, Stewie, and Brooklyn.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Harpell; sisters-in-law, Becky Alday (Dennis) and Amy Simkins (Greg); brother-in-law, Chuck Deckard (Melissa); his son, Jed Harpell (Noel); stepsons, Michael Inmon (Brianna) and John Inmon (Sarah); stepdaughter, Tammy Pennington; grandchildren, Raven Porter (Jon), Jareth Powel, Reyya Inmon, Camry Harpell, Christian Harpell (Alecia), Jeddie Harpell, and Journey Jiles; great-grandchild, Roman Lewis Harpell; several nieces and nephews; his fur babies, Jackson, Zoe, and Beebee; and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 19 at 2:00 pm, with Reverend Susan Schmalzbauer officiating, under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home in Spring eld, Missouri. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Chuck will be remembered for his humor, his love of nature, his craftsmanship, and his devotion to both family, friends, and animals. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
