Charles Michael Harris, Mike, was born August 9, 1948 in Franklin, KY to the late Robert Bailey Harris and the late Frances (Perry) Harris. He is also preceded in death by his brother; Robert Bailey “Bobby” Harris, Jr. He graduated from Franklin-Simpson High School in 1966 and went on to attend college at Murray State and Western Kentucky University. He married Brenda Sue Murley in 1972 and had 3 children, Leslie Fisher (Barclay) of Nashville, TN; Ben Harris (Kari) of Franklin, KY and Justin Harris (Lesslye) of Bowling Green, KY. His littlest loves included his 7 grandchildren: Harris, Rowdy, Lucy, Milly, Landry, Perri Jo and Chandler.
Mike began his diverse career in 1968 at Kendall and then went on to work at Anaconda and American Brass. His vision and leadership as a businessman and entrepreneur continued for 35 years before retiring as President/CEO of Logan Aluminum and then on to the restaurant industry and Zaxby’s. He served for many years as an elder at the Franklin Church of Christ.
Mike was a devoted husband, father and friend. He loved to hunt, fish, golf and work around his farm. He loved his church family and spent his golden years enjoying the hobbies and interests of his grandchildren.
He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 19, 2025. His heart was full of love for his family who will honor and treasure him always.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 22nd from 2-8pm at the Franklin church of Christ, 700 South Main St. in Franklin, KY and will continue on Monday, June 23rd from 8am until 2pm. The celebration of Mike’s life will begin at 2pm on Monday at the church. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in care of the Franklin Church of Christ for Taylor Christian Camp and the Dawson Houses, 700 South Main Street, Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be available at the church.
