Kelly, Charles F."Charlie" III Age 68 of Edina, died of COVID-19 at Heritage of Edina Memory Care Community on Jan. 14, surrounded by his family. He founded Kelly Law Firm and practiced law for almost 30 years until Young-onset Alzheimer's forced an early retirement in 2015. He was a 1987 William Mitchell College of Law graduate, Minnesota State Bar Association member, and admitted Attorney of both the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota and the Supreme Court of the State of Minnesota. Charlie was a loyal friend, devoted husband, and larger-than-life Dad and Papa who loved his family dearly. He also loved rock & roll music and playing golf, which he played well and often. He will be remembered as a true Irish gentleman. Preceded in death by parents, Charles F., M.D. & Kathleen Kelly; and brother, Thomas. Survived by wife of 44 years, Susan; two children, Charles 'Chuck' (Megan) and Brenna Kelly; three grandchildren, Nola and Cole Smillin, and Charles 'Charlie' Kelly; brother, Michael W., M.D. (Brig) and sisters, Ann Little, Patty Jorgensen (Lane), and Mary Greenbush (Steve); many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his faithful canine companion, Ivy.
