He was born November 30, 1935 in Marshall County, WV the son of the late Howard S. and Ruth Lancaster Kernan.
He was retired from the former Triangle Conduit; and a Methodist by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith V. Kernan; a son, Charles Kernan, Jr.; two daughters, Gail Boyer and Gloria Sue Anderson; three brothers, Bill, Junior and John Kernan; and two sisters, Dorothy Berisford and Alberta Morris.
Survivors include a daughter, Lila (Jim) Wilson of Rivesville, WV; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to his cousins who helped care for him.
Private services and interment will be held in Greenview Cemetery, Moundsville.
Arrangements entrusted to Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, Moundsville.
