Charles "Chuck" Land

Chuck was a welder by trade and a cowboy in his real life. His passion was rodeo, horses, bull riding, and he was a true cowboy in every sense of the word. He rode bulls professionally for 40 years, coached college rodeo athletes, and trained world champion cutting horses. He had an almost telepathic connection with every horse he encountered.
Chuck was born in Butler and passed away Sunday morning, September 1, 2024 at Choctaw General Hospital in Butler, AL.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harmon Land of Ararat and his mother, Sallie Wilson Land of Red Springs; his brother Michael Land of Daphne, AL; his grandson Justyn Land, and his beloved horse and partner in crime, Critter.
He is survived by his children Jennifer Land of Huntsville, Brent Land of Pennington, Erica Clanahan of Lavaca, and Jessica Jordan of Linden. His grandchildren: Raine Taylor of Birmingham, Jacob Land of Pennington, Ivan Teeple of Huntsville, Mackenzie Clanahan of Lavaca, and Henry Clanahan of Lavaca, his sister, Carol Bowles of Athens, Ga as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, and a lifelong collection of friends.
Services will be held at Bumper's Funeral Home on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 6pm.
