Charles Logan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Clark Legacy Center - Frankfort on Feb. 11, 2026.
Charles Logan passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Wednesday morning, February 11th, 2026. Having lived just shy of 94 years, Charles had a rich and beautiful life, and remained as sharp, kind and funny as ever right to the end.

Throughout his long life, he did much and wore many hats. He was an athlete, fisherman, farmer, musician, carpenter, electrician, teacher, and baker (especially known for his beaten biscuits and sorghum cookies); though most knew him as an endlessly helpful neighbor and steadfast friend. He was certainly all those things and more, but his favorite roles were Husband, Dad, Granddaddy, and Pa Logan.

Charles was an active member of his church community both inside and outside the walls of the church. He attended worship regularly for many years, lent his voice to a quartet and the choir, brought food to potlucks, and volunteered frequently. He also traveled with his church on missions trips and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity to share his knowledge and multilayered skillset to help people in other communities.

He is preceded in by numerous loved ones: his parents, Bill and Maymie Logan; nine siblings, Elmo, Chester, Lester, Virginia, Billy, Gene, Bonnie, Juanita and Robert; son-in-law, Jerry; and his beloved wife of 69 years, Joyce, whom he joins after nearly six long years apart.

He leaves behind many loved ones as well: his children June Ann, Bev, and Chuck; grandchildren Martha (Kevin), Lindsay (Sergey), Jake (Anna), and Annie (his favorite story and snuggle buddy); and great-grandchildren, his "baby girls", Kate and Maggie.

Charles and Joyce worked hard to provide for their children's educations, but their generosity extended to many others. They were always among the first to arrive with homemade soups and baked goods for every occasion. The love of Charles Logan, and reach of his kindness extends far beyond his immediate family. There are cousins, nieces and nephews, and countless friends and neighbors who love him and will miss him dearly. He made a lasting impression on all who knew him, and undeniably left the world a better place for having walked through it. He will be deeply missed and long remembered.

The family wants to extend their love and heartfelt thanks to his caregivers at The Homeplace of Midway and Hospice of The Bluegrass. Each person who attended to him treated him as if he was a family member. He was extended the greatest dignity and kindness and a dose of humor, which he appreciated very much.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to one of these organizations to further their wonderful work in central Kentucky.

Friends and family are invited to join together for a service on Friday, February 13 starting at 1:00 pm at Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. There will be no visitation or graveside service. The family appreciates your understanding of their need for privacy at this time. Cards and condolences may be sent to Chuck Logan at PO Box 4293, Midway, KY 40347.

Yesterday

When my family and I moved to Midway in 1985, we met some of the finest people in the world. Many are still here but sadly to many have departed this life. Charles and Joyce Logan and their family welcomed us with open arms. What a wonderful
place to raise a family. Thank you Charlie for all you have done for us and so many others.

I enjoyed Charle“s crooking class on making beaten biscuits. I was surprised when he used the wringers from an old washing machine to roll the dough thru. He will be missed.
