Charles Henry Macumber, 73, of Chickasha, Oklahoma formerly of
Sayre, Oklahoma was born on January 25, 1952 in
Sayre, Oklahoma. He is the son of Carl Jean and Bernice Ada (Bernard) Macumber. Charles went to look up the face of his Lord and Savior on December 12, 2025 in Chickasha, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.
Charles joined the Oklahoma National Guard in August of 1971 and served his country proudly for twenty-five years. He married Bonita Joyce Stewart on July 27, 1988 in
Sayre, Oklahoma.
He enjoyed collecting mini cannons, building models, reading engineering manuals, running, and bird hunting. Charles also played bass in a band. He enjoyed his time in the National Guard but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Charles started working for Arkla 1977 and retired from Centerpoint in 2002. He was Cub Master for the Boys Scout Troop 3662 in
Sayre, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at United Methodist Church,
Sayre, Oklahoma. Dale Hartman will officiate. Interment will be at Buffalo Cemetery,
Sayre, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in
Elk City, Oklahoma.
Cherishing his memory is his wife, Bonita Joyce Macumber of the home; two sons, Jared Macumber and his wife Elizabeth of
Sayre, Oklahoma, Brad Matlock and his wife Wendy of Shawnee, Oklahoma; three daughters, Katrenia Beane and her husband Del of Shell Knob, Missouri, Rosilyn Grigsby and her husband James of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Adrienne Bewley and her husband Derek of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Dexter Matlock of Chattanooga, Oklahoma, Katee Morrison and her husband James, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kirby O'Neil and her partner Kaidence of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Blake Matlock and his wife Shelby of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Morgan Woodall and her husband Steaven of Chattanooga, Oklahoma, Garrett Matlock and his wife Emily of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Kagen Macumber of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Taylor Grigsby, Elliott Grigsby and Rylee Bewley all of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren, Dax Matlock and Dally Matlock, both of Indiahoma, Oklahoma, Hoyt Woodall and Huck Woodall both of Chattanooga, Oklahoma, Madilyn Matlock of Choctaw, Oklahoma; sister, Jean Marie Kay and her husband Ronnie of Edmond, Oklahoma; niece, Brandi (Kay) Fisher of Yukon, Oklahoma; two great nieces, Kylee Fisher of Yukon, Oklahoma and Sheyenne Spence of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Bernice Macumber; his uncle Possum and aunt Edith Bernard, maternal grandparents, Charlie and Minnie (Granny) Bernard.
