Yvette Macumber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes and Hedges Cemetery - Camdenton on Feb. 16, 2026.
Yvette Macumber passed away on February 13, 2026, peacefully at her home in Camdenton, Missouri.

Yvette was well known in the Lake area having transferred to Camdenton High School from Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, when she was thirteen. She was a madrigal singer and graduated in 1981from Camdenton High School.

Yvette attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, where she earned her bachelor's degree in design. She then took a job with Hager in Dallas, Texas, manufacturing medium to high grade women's apparel. She worked for eight years as a production manager. She then took a position at Northern Caps in Minneapolis, Minnesota, making high quality wool Caps for outdoor sports people.

Prior to her employment times she toured Europe twice from England, Germany, the Alps, and Rome. When traveling she really enjoyed the Alpine Strawberry Shortcake in the Alps.

Yvette after years of traveling and working different positions across the country, by God's design, she returned home to Lake of the Ozarks to be among her friends, church family, and her parents, E. Joan and Larry Birkey of the "Pink Ribbon Group".

Yvette was the last descendent of Mathias, the man who replaced Judas Iscariot as a disciple and, would like everyone to know, that the man in the bible with two ("T's) is not the same Mathias, but rather Matthias was a nephew. Both her grandparents Troy and Mildred (Trammell) Mathias preceded her in death.

There are no formal services planned at this time.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 1270 S. Business Route 5, Camdenton, MO 65020, (573) 346-2090. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.
