Charles Edward Matheny (Charlie or Butch) 79 years old of Lexington Kentucky went to his eternal home on April 13th 2023.
Charlie was born in Charleston, West Virginia on June 6th 1943 to Olive and William Matheny. Charlie was married to Susie Matheny on April 6th 1974 and married for 49 years
Charlie left retirement to join Walmart as an associate for another 18 years. Where he became lovingly known as the Candyman. He never met a stranger and loved by all. He remembered every friend and their children no matter how much time had passed.
At 76 years old he left Walmart and focused on his family and his yard. He loved his flowers and was so proud of his backyard where he would be surrounded by his family and friends along with his puppies, squirrels and hummingbirds.
Charlie is survived by Susie Matheny / wife, Leslie Carter / daughter, Jimette Matheny/daughter and Charles Fishpaw/ son. Grandchildren include - Lindsey Kirby / Brian, Mckenzie Jones/ Cleveland, Brannen Carter, Charles Michael Carter, and Taylor Fishpaw.
Great grandchildren -Jordan, Ava Jean, and Maddox. and his sister Marianne (Annie) Samples/Jim.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings - Patsy, Phyllis Jean, Bill, Tom, Larry, Rick, Denny, Janice and two grandchildren Sam and Ace Fleming.

A Celebration of Life will be held at his favorite place in the world. His backyard.
Saturday June 3rd from 5pm-8pm 4649 Riverman Way Lexington, KY 40515.
