Charles Merle Moen

Charles Merle Moen of Burnsville MN passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, at the age of 88. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, his parents Severa and Frithjof, his siblings Fritz and Lowell. He is survived by his daughter Linda (Jeffrey) Sjolander; son Jeffrey (Sarah); son Michael; grandchildren Christopher (Emily), Lauren (Randal), Cameron, Samuel, Abigail, Elijah, great grandchildren Audrey and Grayson, and sister Marilyn Rueger.
Charles grew up in South Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School.
Married for 64 years, Charles and Kathleen built their family on a strong foundation of love and faith. Charles had many friends and enjoyed sharing his life with his friends, family and relatives. Charles was active at Hope Presbyterian Church since 1972 and participated in the Oasis ministry and was an usher.
Charles traveled the world with Kathleen, his children and Kathleen's parents. He worked for the majority of his adult life at Northwest Airlines. Charles loved jazz music and transmitted this passion to his family and friends. Charles treated his friends and family to special names which became his signature way of showing his love and affection.
Charles was laid to rest at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Burnsville. A private family and friends celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family requests memorials be directed to Hope Church - Hope Family Ministries, 7132 Portland Ave, Richfield, MN 55423.
