Charles Mulvey Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 29, 2024.
Charles Paul Mulvey, Sr.
of Wheeling, IL
Charles "Chuck" Paul Mulvey, Sr., 82, was born May 6, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois to Frank and Catherine (nee Yore) Mulvey. He passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Warren Barr Buffalo Grove, in Buffalo Grove, Illinois surrounded by his family.
He grew up on the west side of Chicago and lived in the northwest suburbs since 1971.
After graduating from Loyola University, Charles' career as a software engineer spanned five decades and five companies including Honeywell, Rigensteiner Printing & Press, Arthur Rubloff, Shurefine, and PACTIV. Along the way he became a Certified Public Accountant.
Remembered as a life-long learner, he found joy in exploring the world, taking delight in reading, history, following the news and politics, and especially, computers. His love for theater, travel, and nature took him on many journeys, but nothing brought him more happiness than spending quality time with his family, enjoying dinner together, camping in the great outdoors, and family parties. Anyone that was ever with him at a party can remember a spirited debate! He was always a source of knowledge and someone to go to when finding out how to do or approach something. A supportive husband, father, uncle, and grandfather, his family will cherish the memories of his presence in their activities, babysitting and always being available to assist in projects and repairs around the house. Charles was a faith filled, practicing Catholic, and member of St. Emily's and St. Edna's church.
Although we wish you were still home with us, we have comfort knowing that you now are truly on your journey home. We thank you for being a great part of our lives and being a great positive influence.
Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn (nee Wojton); his children, Charles Jr., Julie, and Marc (Michelle) Mulvey; his grandsons Matthew and Michael; and his sisters, Betty Mulvey and Mary (Gordon) Hirsch and nephew Jeffrey Hirsch and niece Cristine Hirsch.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathryn Mulvey.
