Charles Robert (Chuck) Nease, 71 of Georgetown, South Carolina passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. His wife and daughter were by his side. Born on June 8, 1953, in Fairmont, West Virginia. He was the son of William (Bill) Nease and Wilda Loudin Nease. Both preceded him in death.
Chuck's life was defined by hard work, love of family and a quiet commitment to helping others. He was very intelligent, artistic and had a photographic memory. His wife and daughter always said there was no need for Google. No matter what the question, he always had the answer. There wasn't anything he couldn't do so he was always ready and willing to help anyone who needed it. Many were blessed by crossing paths with Chuck when they needed it most.
He graduated from Fairmont Senior High School and attended Fairmont State College. His career was in sales while living in Fairmont. He especially enjoyed working at Lowrey Organ Center where he displayed his talent as a keyboard player. He moved to South Carolina in 1987 and worked at Tupperware and as a contractor until he went to work for International Paper where he spent many years. He later retired from Penske in May, 2024 where he was employed as a logistics driver.
He learned to fly after moving to South Carolina and enjoyed seeing this beautiful state from the air. He loved traveling, especially to the Tennessee mountains and to West Virginia for his family reunions. He loved spending time with family, gospel music and playing his keyboard. He also had an impressive singing voice which very few people had the pleasure of hearing. Another of his favorite things was spending time with his beloved dog, Maddie. As long as he was able, they took long walks together every day.
Chuck is survived by his wife Linda who will be forever grateful for their 50 wonderful years together, his daughter Stacey who was his pride and joy, one brother Scott (Claudia) of Bridgeport, WV, two nieces, Emily Micucci (Chad) Morgantown, WV and Lisa Maynard (Jess) Huntington, WV, one nephew Josh (Beth) of Davis, WV, four great nieces and nephews, Corinne, Carter, Iris and Lyle. He is also survived by nine cousins that he remained very close to: Jill (Jack), Jane, Mike (Sue), Scott (Darlene), Beth, Brooks (Mary Lou), Lynda (Danny), Loretta and Richard (Connie). He is also survived by his shadow, Maddie.
Chuck was a very special person and will be remembered lovingly as being kind, generous and compassionate with a contagious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor which he never lost. To quote his oncologist "With all he's going through, he always makes me laugh." He will also be remembered as a devoted and supportive husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was deeply loved and will be sadly missed.
His wife and daughter would like to thank the staff at Yawkey Cancer Center and Georgetown Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. And also family, friends and neighbors for their constant support.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date. Everyone will be notified.
Donations can be made in Chuck's memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation online, Gary Sinise Foundation online or Friendship Place, 1905 Front St, Georgetown, SC 29440.
