Shirley Jean Nease was born on February 7, 1951, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Shirley was the daughter of Frank Henry Putt and Betty May (Pardoe) Putt, she passed from this life on October 7, 2025, in Norman, Oklahoma, at the age of 74.
Shirley grew up in Enola, Pennsylvania, alongside her three siblings, where she enjoyed a simple and joyful rural life surrounded by family, chickens, and even a donkey. Shirley graduated from Halifax High School in 1969.
In 1973, Shirley married the love of her life, Alvin Lynn Nease, on October 5 in Roswell, New Mexico. Lynn and Shirley moved to Hennepin, Oklahoma in 1991 and eventually settled in Katie and then making their final home in Foster, Oklahoma. The two shared a devoted marriage until Lynn's passing on June 26, 2010. Together, they raised a loving family and built a lifetime of memories traveling across the United States, often sometimes with their grandkids in tow, while Lynn worked as a truck driver.
Shirley's greatest pride and joy were her children; Richard Kreiner, Michael Kreiner, Travis Nease, and Cheryl Tracy. Part of Shirley's career was spent as a homemaker tending to the children, but she also worked at a jean factory in Roswell and later in management for Love's. She was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and determination - qualities she passed down to everyone around her.
At home, Shirley found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time by her swimming pool, tending to her yard, watching hummingbirds, and spending time with her beloved dog, Tippy. She enjoyed coloring in adult coloring books and hosting family cookouts and pool parties filled with laughter and love. Shirley was also an exceptional cook - her scalloped potatoes, shoo fly cake, navy bean soup, and the cookie monsters' cookies were family favorites.
Those who knew Shirley will remember her for her generosity, her unwavering love for family, and her ability to see the good in everyone. She believed in working hard, helping others, always keeping your words kind, and always keeping family close. Among her many blessings were her special friends, Felicia and Teddy, who brought great joy and companionship to her life.
Shirley is survived by her Sons, Richard Kreiner and Susan of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Michael Kreiner and wife Jennie of Marlow, Oklahoma; Daughter, Cheryl Tracy and husband Max of Foster, Oklahoma; Sister, Marcia (Putt) Gochenaur and husband Scott of Foster, Oklahoma; Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and a host of other friends and family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lynn Nease; Son, Travis Nease; Parents, Frank Henry Putt and Betty May (Pardoe) Putt; Granddaughter, Ashley Romine; Brother, Leonard "Buddy" Wayne Putt; and Sister, Anita Shirley.
