Gary Don Burleson of Pauls Valley passed away on August 16, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 68.
He was born on March 24, 1957, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Delbert and Edith Burleson. The Burleson Family relocated from Arkansas to Pauls Valley during the mid-1960s, where Gary attended school, lived and worked for the remainder of his life.
Gary married Patricia Myers on July 4, 2009, in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Being mechanically inclined, Gary worked various jobs, and for several years, he drove a truck hauling rock, then on to cross-country hauling before transitioning to fixing auto air conditioners and performing mechanic work. He was the owner and operator of Gary's A/C and Auto Repair, where he serviced cars, large trucks, and agricultural machinery.
Many knew Gary by the initials "LB," which stood for "Laughing Boy." He loved to laugh and make others laugh with him. Gary never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone and get them to laugh before parting. Gary would bend over backwards and go out of his way to help anyone. He was faithful to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Gary was known and loved by many in the community, and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delbert Burleson; mother and stepfather, Edith Caldwell-Burleson Sellers and Rev. M.E. Sellers.
Gary is survived by his wife, Patricia Burleson; siblings Joyce Meiser, Shirley Dehart (and husband Steve), Larry Michael Burleson (and wife Bonita); and stepbrother Rev. Ronnie Sellers (and wife Vicki); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Victory Lighthouse Church, officiated by Bishop Michael Webber and Rick Muskgrove. Interment will follow at McGee Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.stufflebeanfuneralhome.com.
