Of Monroeville, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
Born the son of the late Clement C. O'Connor and the late Zora (Wagner) O'Connor.
Beloved husband of the late Joan J. (Smith) O'Connor.
Loving father of Linda M. (Michael) Scarano of Murrysville, Joanie B. Woodhouse of Greensburg, and the late Timothy C. (surviving spouse, Kathleen) O'Connor.
Cherished grandfather of Amanda M. (David) Traficante, Michael C. Scarano, Michelle M. Scarano, Jordan D. Woodhouse, and Austin W. Woodhouse.
Adored great-grandfather of Cayla, Dominic and Isaac Traficante.
Dear brother of Roberta "Bobbi" (Robert) Toth and Thomas N. (the late Barbara) O'Connor.
Uncle of Robert J. (Karen) Toth, William "Billy" (Lori) Toth, Andrea Evans, Thomas (Stacey) O'Connor, Michael (Denise) O'Connor, and Denise (John) Welsh.
Also survived by many great nieces and great nephews.
Hap was raised in the town of North Braddock and was a 1957 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School. Then, he immediately began to work as a mechanic for Litman Motor Co. in Braddock and later International Harvester. Hap began his final stretch of employment in 1994, when he began working for Peoples Gas/Dominion Resources, a job he held until his retirement. Hap was a dedicated volunteer lifetime member of both the Swissvale Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Monroeville Volunteer Fire Dept. Hap was well known for taking trips on his motorcycle and driving his Lincoln Town Car. He enjoyed vacationing to Wildwood Crest, and most of all, Hap treasured the moments shared with all of his family and friends.
Friends are welcome on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in Mother of Sorrows Church (Murrysville).
Hap will be laid to rest in Good Shepherd Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at William Penn Senior Care Center for their dedicated care to Hap.
Memorial contributions may be made in Hap's name to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 5115 Centre Ave, Pgh. PA 15232.
