Charles Douglas Oexman, 75, a lifetime Miami resident, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Freeman Health System in Joplin, Missouri. Charles was born on November 15, 1949, in Miami to Herman and Audrey (Miller) Oexman. He graduated from high school with Miami High School Class of 1968. He then attended Oklahoma State University until joining the United States Air Force in 1970. Mr. Oexman was a true craftsman; he worked as a building contractor for many years, mostly on remodeling homes. On September 22, 2012, he married his love, Kim (McCumber) Oexman. Charles had just a few hobbies but loved each one of them. For years, he went to Carthage to play tennis at the underground. He loved photography, building computers, cooking, and music, most recently rock and roll, with some encouragement from Kim. Charles was also a member of the All-Saints' Episcopal Church. Mr. Oexman's parents preceded him in passing, along with a brother, Don Oexman, and a nephew, Richard Oexman.
Those who will cherish their memories of Charles are his loving wife, Kim Oexman of the home, his brother Jim Oexman and his wife Becky of Miami, nieces Rachel and Diana, nephew Adam, his special friend Darrin McNiel, along with AC, his cat.
There will be a visitation time on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM at the Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
