Charles William (Charlie) Ooley, 77 of Ellettsville, passed away September 1, 2024, at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington, Indiana.
Charles was born on October 29th, 1946, in Putnam County to Clementh "Kimmie" and Geneva (Williams) Ooley.
He graduated from Spencer High School. Charlie worked for Rogers Group in Bloomington as an Equipment Operator and later for Weddle Brothers in Bloomington as an Operator until he retired in 2008. He was a member of Operators Union 841. In his retirement Charlie enjoyed Tractor Pulling and spending time with family and friends. He was a member of Sullivan County Garden Tractor Pullers. Charlie always had a funny story or joke to tell, and his sense of humor is what most will remember about him.
Mr. Ooley is survived by his sister Karen (Tom) Fulk of Spencer; children Jeff (Cindy) Ooley of Bloomington, Gary (Michelle) Ooley of Greenfield, Lori Howe of Plainfield, Pam (Matt) Leach of Cloverdale; stepchildren Lisa Mossbrucker of Ellettsville and Jon DeVito of Orange City FL; nephews Douglas Fulk of Gosport and Travis Fulk of Spencer; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Kimmie and Geneva Ooley, his wife Donneta Jo Ooley and a nephew, Keith Fulk.
There will be a visitation for family and friends at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 pm.
