Phillip Ross Ooley, 66, a lifelong resident of Morgan County, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024, in the comfort of his home and with his family by his side. Phil was born on Monday, September 8th, 1958, in Indianapolis to the late Ezra Earl Ooley and Ruth L. McDonald.
He was a graduate of Martinsville High School with the Class of 1976 and later attended Indiana State University. Phil was the former owner of Honeycomb Products in Indianapolis. He enjoyed boating, golfing, traveling and time shared with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a proud and loving Papaw.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1349, Masonic Lodge F & AM #74, American Legion Post #230 and the VFW Post # 1257.
Phil is survived by his wife, Cathy (Inman) Ooley of Martinsville, whom he married on May 14th, 1983; sons, Joseph Ooley (wife, Ashley) and Luke Ooley, both of Martinsville; his beloved grandchildren, Hannah and Ross Ooley; half-sister, Jackie Huelett (husband, Ed) of Indianapolis; cousin, Terry Modesitt (wife, Karen) of Terre Haute, IN; mother-in-law, Sue Inman of Martinsville; sister-in-law, Missy Newman (husband, Robert) of Tennessee; long-time dear friend, Debbie (Percifield) Carter of Martinsville and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and his three beloved dogs, Helga, Bryson and Scout.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, Jerry McDonald.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, November 25th, 2024, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm and Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time at Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center. A service celebrating his life will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 26th at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Liberty Cemetery in Martinsville following the funeral service.
