Spotsylvania - Charles Ortiz was born and raised in Nambe, NM. He was a 1979 graduate of Pojoaque High. Charles worked in the construction industry throughout his life. He was a jack of all trades and always willing to offer his expertise. He lived every day for the beautiful moments.
Charles took his last breath on July 27, 2024, in Spotsylvania, VA, after a short and intense battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Lucille, who was the love of his life, whom he adored, his soulmate. She was with him day and night throughout his illness, until he drew his last breath.
He is also survived by his daughter Heather and husband Robert Anderson, son Lance and wife Mandi Ortiz, his beautiful grandchildren, who he was very proud of, Layla, Robert, Anika, Gunner, Dashel, and Hayden Anderson, and Hudson and Piper Ortiz.
Charles was very lucky to have 2 families, his biological and adopted family. He is survived by his mother Violet Roybal (husband Patrick, deceased), his brothers and sisters Elizabeth Duran, Kenneth (Pam), Irven (Henrietta), Bryan (Christina) Romero, Josina Ortiz, Elvira Garcia, Dora Ortiz, Annie Scovel (Clint), Leroy Ortiz (Ruby), Amadeo Ortiz, sister-in-law Miranda Ortiz, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amadeo and Victoriana Ortiz, brothers Lino and Vicente Ortiz, and nephews Anhel Garcia and Adrian Ortiz. He is also survived by his parents-in-law Luciano and Mary Roybal and the mother of his children, Lee.
Rosary to be held at Our Lady of Guadalupa Catholic Church, Pojoaque, NM, August 14, 2024, 9 a.m., with Mass immediately following.
