Charles E. “Skip” Parsons, 85, of Wellsboro, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025, at UPMC Williamsport. He was born January 25, 1940, in Wellsboro, the son of the late Morton and Edna (Henry) Parsons. He married the former Evelyn Burton on August 17, 1968.
Charles graduated from Wellsboro High School, Class of 1957, was an Army Veteran, and worked as a machinist and inspector for Ingersol-Rand, later Dresser-Rand, Painted Post, NY.
Charles was an avid history buff, loved reading, bird watching, and outdoor interests and activities. He was also a precision craftsman, and a master of mechanics and building.
In addition to his wife, Evelyn, Charles is survived by a daughter: Brenda (Ron) Brought of Wellsboro; grandchildren: Conner, Cathryn, and Cameron Brought; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Parsons, and a sister, Elizabeth Miller.
A private burial will be in Wellsboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions in Charles’ name be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or to a charity of one’s choice.
