Charles Allen Pedrotty, devoted husband to the late Helen (Smith) Pedrotty, passed away peacefully at the Arbors of Hopbrook in Manchester, Connecticut, on November 2nd, 2025.
Charles, a Cheshire, Connecticut resident for many years, moved to Manchester later in his life. Born on April 26th, 1927, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to Elizabeth (Cutson) and Francis Pedrotty, Charles was the third of four children, including older brothers Francis (Bud) and John (Richard) Pedrotty and a younger sister Elizabeth (Betty) Cornman (Pedrotty). Charles graduated from Saint Thomas More High School for Catholic Boys in Philadelphia in 1944. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Oklahoma City as it was stationed in San Francisco, California. After WWII ended, he returned to school to study chemical engineering and graduated from Cornell University, where he met and married his beloved wife. For over 30 years, Charles worked at Uniroyal, starting as a chemist and eventually becoming director of international sales, traveling the world. He then continued his work career as material manager at Circuit Wise in North Haven, Connecticut for many years until retirement. Charles was a lifelong active member of the Catholic Church. He was one of the founding members of the then Saint Thomas Becket parish in Cheshire, Connecticut. He served as lector and choir member, and also sang in the Cheshire Community Choir for many years. In addition to his love for family and community, Charles was a passionate and competitive athlete who enjoyed golf and tennis well into his senior years. He was a long-time member of the Farms Country Club and made many close friends on the golf course and throughout town. Charles was blessed with 60 years of marriage to his wife, Helen. Charles has four children: Thomas (Gayle) Pedrotty, James Timothy (Denise) Pedrotty, Kathleen (Dr. David) Underhill, and Laura (James) Mitrano. He also has 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. They are blessed to have had a father and grandfather who was both spiritual and spirited, curious, witty, and devoted to family. He was quick to make a friend, share a smile and remember a name. He was the center of every gathering and will be remembered and deeply missed at family events for years to come.
